Milpitas Counselor In Training (CIT) 2025 Application (Due 4/18/25)

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program offers teens ages 13 to 16 the opportunity to develop leadership, responsibility, time management, and teamwork skills. CITs will be paired with experienced recreation staff and assist in one of our summer day camps: Camp Quest or Camp Elevate.

All applicants, including returning CITs, must submit an application to be considered for the program this summer.

The program can only accept up to 10 CITs per week.

Program Timeline
April 4, 2025 - Begin accepting applications
Completed applications must be submitted online to be considered for review.

April 18, 2025 - Application submissions closed
After this date, all applications are reviewed by CIT staff.

April 28 - May 2, 2025 - CIT interviews
Applicants are invited to interview at the Milpitas Teen Center in the afternoon between 4:30-6 p.m. Invitations will be emailed to applicants on Monday, April 21 at 5 p.m.

May 9, 2025 - Selected CITs announced by email
CIT staff will notify applicants by email if selected to be part of program. Applicants who are not selected will also be notified.

May 12, 2025 - Open registration for selected CITs only
CIT staff will email registration link to selected applicants.

June 13, 2025 - Mandatory CIT Training
CIT staff will lead a mandatory training for all selected applicants at the Milpitas Teen Center from 5-6:30 p.m.

Camp Availability

Camps are held each week from June 16, 2025 through August 7, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no camp on Friday, July 4.
