Milpitas Arts & Culture Grant Application 25-26 Season

Cultural Arts groups (nonprofit organizations, schools, clubs) and individuals may request free use of City of Milpitas’ rentable indoor or outdoor space to offer enriching and free or low-cost cultural arts programming for the community or, in the case of performing arts, rehearsing for free and low-cost programming to be offered in Milpitas.

This grant includes:
• Use of the City-owned facility or park for the hours awarded
• Waiver of the application fee
• Services of a building attendant to unlock the facility and set up furnishings
• Use of rentable City equipment available at that facility
• Basic theatrical sound and lighting for events in the Community Center Auditorium
• Services of City staff to operate the sound and lighting equipment
• Inclusion in City marketing channels (Activity Guide, City Website, Recreation and Community Services social media pages, e-blast list)

This grant does not include the waiver of or free access to:
• Security deposit
• Any required insurance
• Any permits that may be required by the City or County
• Services of Police or Public Works staff
• Use of City equipment that is not standard with all rentals for that facility (risers, dance floor)

Groups are limited to two events per year, each event lasting no more than two consecutive days. The cumulative total of event hours, including set up and break down, is limited to 40 hours per organization per fiscal year. Requests for Milpitas Arts & Culture Grants are approved by the City Council. Please allow adequate time for your proposal to be considered, approved and marketed appropriately. Late applications will not be considered.

Important Deadlines for the 2025-2026 Arts Season

Winter/Spring Events (December 8, 2025-April 30, 2026)

Summer/Fall Events (May 1, 2026-November 21, 2026)
Apply by January 6, 2026
Art Commission Review: 4th Monday in February, 2026
City Council Approval: 3rd Tuesday in March, 2026


All Milpitas Arts and Culture Grant recipients must:
• Submit a complete grant application packet by the stipulated grant submittal timelines
• Complete a standard rental packet, including signing liability waiver and acknowledgement of applicable rules and providing proof of insurance.
• Acknowledge the City of Milpitas in All publicity materials and programs with the following language: “This event is made possible, in part, through a grant from the City of Milpitas.”
• Provide digital proof copies of publicity materials and publications to the City prior to publication.
• Verbally acknowledge the City at the beginning of the event.
• Submit a grant final report within 10 days of the event.
